VT250SG2D - Vermont 250th Anniversary Badge
Once upon a time, way back in the early days of our fine country, what we now live in and know as Vermont was considered part of New Hampshire.
Between January 1749 and October 1764, New Hampshire's Governor Benning Wentworth, (Bennington was named after him), issued 135 grants for land in what is now known as Vermont. Over 100 of these "grant towns" or "Charter Towns" still exist. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
